Laughed at by the first architects he approached, he began to work on his concept using a 40-foot-long, 9-foot-6-inches-tall and 8-foot-wide container in the driveway of his Salt Lake City (Utah) home. Being “busted” by a city inspector became the needed publicity for his project and soon after the Salt Lake’s mayor was behind him and helped to ease the permits and inspections process.
After two years of transformation (including plans, groundwork and permits), what began as two forty-foot high cube containers is now a light and airy 672-square-foot house. It’s not dirt cheap- the Sarah House (named for a San Francisco homeless woman whose makeshift home inspired White) is currently on the market for $135,000 (and only to low-income buyers)-, but that price includes a lot of hidden costs. “I spent 40 thousand dollars for the lot and then the infrastructure underneath it, getting the sewer, water lines, probably an additional 25 thousand dollars. So you can see where I’m at, the house is still coming in at 55 to 60 thousand dollars.” White thinks with time and economies of scale, he can bring the costs down.

The world’s largest Secular Community Center.
Penn is the vocal half of the Las Vegas magic act Penn & Teller.
For twenty years The Slammer has been a retreat of reason in the desert and we want to keep it that way.
Penn has moved to a new family-friendly home in the suburbs, and we plan to keep developers from buying this historic and unique place just to knock it down to make room for cookie cutter houses. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
NOT ON OUR WATCH!
We have been working tirelessly to find a buyer for the land who will not use the surrounding area to create a suburban abomination.
WE HAVE SUCCEEDED IN THAT GOAL!
Penn has made a very generous offer to allow the United Church of Bacon
to buy the Slammer for less than the developers would pay.
THAT’S WHERE YOU COME IN!
We need 3 million dollars to buy, remodel and maintain the Slammer but we have set the fundraising goal $500,000.
We need your help to raise the funds required to purchase, remodel, and manage the property so that we can do something good for the atheist and skeptic communities.
You now have the chance to help do something amazing. You can help transform the Slammer into the world’s largest atheist community center, The Nevatican.

After previously facing Hurricane Katrina and rebuilding, Pastor Debra B. Morton and Bishop Paul S. Morton was forced to rebuild yet again.
After being blessed to worship in New Orleans’ Congregation Temple Sinai and a high school auditorium, God has truly blessed during the rebuilding process.
On Thanksgiving Day 2009, Bishop and Pastor Morton were blessed to come home to “Phase I” of returning back to their church in Morton Hall. As one who is apart of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, we excited for what God is doing at the “Mother church”. Pastor Debra Morton preaches “Thank You For Staying In The Ship” and many can testify that it was a struggle but yet they endured.
P.S. Please take to comment and congratulate Greater St. Stephens on their great achievement and how you have been blessed by their ministry.

Once of the most commonly asked questions we, Erdye’s Pest Control, get asked is, “What’s the most effective product to keep insects out of our house?” In our opinion, it’s Ortho Home Defense, but it does have it’s downsides.

Hurricane Harvey is one of the most costly hurricanes in American history. In Texas and Louisiana, more than 30-trillion gallons of rain has damaged or destroyed more than 200,000 homes and totaled more than a million cars.
“As a Texan, I was heartbroken to see the effects of Hurricane Harvey,” says our bass singer, Tim Foust. “And as a native of Nederland, it’s devastating knowing that 500,000 people have been affected in my community alone.”
The Beaumont area is smaller than Houston, and as a result, they’ve received far less coverage in the media.
And so today, Home Free is proud to stand with Tim to support those affected by Hurricane Harvey, and in particular, Beaumont and its surrounding communities.
To get things started we have donated $20,000.00, and we are challenging our fans to come together to match that amount.
The money raised through this YouCaring campaign will go to the Nederland Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund and the Southeast Texas Food Bank, both of whom are doing amazing work in the Beaumont area. Tim’s family is still in Nederland, and his mother and sister have been actively volunteering with hurricane relief. They will be personally overseeing the Church of Christ efforts.
While Tim’s mom, Dena, and his childhood home are fine, many in surrounding communities are not. Beaumont lost its entire supply of clean water. Several schools are closed indefinitely.
The money raised here on YouCaring will go to help Southeast Texas get back on their feet. Food, water, shelter, school supplies, beds, cleaning supplies, tools, etc – there are so many things that they need right now. And we’re working with folks on the ground there to make sure they get them.
The Nederland Church of Christ Disaster Relief Fund is a brand new entity, established for this endeavor. It is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) pending corporation, meaning that your donation should be tax deductible. Organizers have filed the appropriate requests with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Texas tax authorities for tax-exempt non-profit status. We expect this will take 4 to 8 weeks to complete, making donations tax deductible for the 2017 calendar year.
And in this tough time, we want to bring some levity and joy to the lives of everyone who is just now beginning the process of rebuilding as well as celebrate the way we’ve seen Texans come together to help one another. So, we’ve recorded a special version of The Little Texas song, God Blessed Texas.
All the proceeds from the sales and streams of that recording will also be going to benefit Southeast Texas.
Be sure to look out for that in the next couple of days.
Texas, we love you. We stand with you. We’re ready to help. And we know all our Home Fries are with you, too.
